Val Rosegg is one of the most impressive side valleys in the Engadine. From Pontresina, the trail leads into the expansive high valley, accompanied by rushing mountain streams, fragrant larch forests and magnificent views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers.

The route into Val Rosegg is ideal for a relaxing day trip and can be explored on foot or by bicycle. The views of Piz Roseg and the surrounding glaciers are particularly spectacular, giving the valley its unique alpine atmosphere.

Our tip: Allow plenty of time for a leisurely stop at one of the mountain restaurants in Val Roseg. The combination of an impressive mountain backdrop, pristine nature and a delicious break makes this excursion a truly memorable experience.

The Chastè Peninsula near Sils Maria is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places on Lake Sils. An idyllic walking path follows the lakeshore through larch and Swiss stone pine forests, offering breathtaking views of the deep blue waters and the impressive Engadine mountains along the way.

On the peninsula itself, small bays and idyllic spots invite you to pause and relax. Chastè is particularly beautiful on sunny days, when the surrounding peaks are reflected in the waters of Lake Sils. If you are looking for peace and nature, this is a wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle.

Our tip: The peninsula is perfect to combine with a leisurely walk from Sils Maria. Take your time to enjoy the scenery – and don't forget your camera.

This beautiful hike connects Maloja with Sils Maria and takes you through one of the most scenic landscapes in the Upper Engadine. The trail follows the shores of Lake Sils, offering magnificent views of the deep blue water, the surrounding mountain peaks and the expansive Engadine forests.

The hike is particularly atmospheric in autumn, when the larch trees turn golden and the mountain landscape is bathed in warm colours. Along the way, numerous beautiful spots invite you to pause, take in the scenery and enjoy the tranquillity of nature.

Our tip: Take a break in Isola at the Restaurant Lagrev and enjoy a light snack. For the return journey, depending on the timetable and season, you can take a scheduled boat across Lake Sils. This allows you to enjoy the impressive landscape once again, this time from the water and at a wonderfully leisurely pace.

Just a drive over the Maloja Pass, Chiavenna offers a completely different side of the region. This charming Italian town delights visitors with its winding streets, historic buildings, inviting squares and unmistakable touch of Dolce Vita.

Stroll through the picturesque old town, browse the small shops and cafés, and enjoy Italian cuisine at one of the many restaurants. The historic palazzi and characteristic granite bridges are particularly worth seeing and give Chiavenna its distinctive charm.

Our tip: Combine your visit with a trip to the nearby Acquafraggia waterfalls. After exploring the town, you can enjoy this impressive natural spectacle – and perhaps finish the day with a delicious gelato in Chiavenna.

In the Val Poschiavo, above Cavaglia, the Glacier Garden offers a fascinating natural spectacle. Over thousands of years, the meltwater from the Palü Glacier has carved deep potholes and impressive rock formations into the granite.

A circular trail leads through the elevated Glacier Garden. One of the highlights is the opportunity to descend into some of the impressive glacier potholes and explore them from the inside. At the same time, you can enjoy wonderful views across the Val Poschiavo.

Our tip: Combine a visit to the Glacier Garden with a trip to the Val Poschiavo and a journey on the Rhaetian Railway. The route through this UNESCO World Heritage landscape is an experience in itself.

Pontresina is home to one of the largest ibex colonies in the Alps. Especially in spring, from the end of April to the beginning of June, the animals often come down to the upper edge of the village and can be spotted with a little luck.

The Ibex Trail starts at St. Maria Church and leads to the meadow below the chairlift to Alp Languard. From our holiday apartment, you can reach the starting point within just a few minutes on foot.

Our tip: Bring your binoculars and keep your eyes open – you might soon spot an ibex right above the village.

Muottas Muragl is a wonderful destination at any time of year, offering breathtaking views over the Engadine lakes and the impressive surrounding mountains. Even the funicular ride up to 2,456 metres above sea level is an experience in itself.

Whether you enjoy a leisurely walk, a hike, relaxing on the sun terrace or, in winter, an exhilarating ride on the toboggan run, Muottas Muragl is a wonderful place to experience the unique beauty of the Upper Engadine.

Our tip: Start with the panoramic trail and then stop for a meal or a drink at the mountain hotel. If you are looking for something more adventurous, take the 4.2-kilometre toboggan run down to Punt Muragl.

Lago di Saoseo is considered one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Switzerland. Nestled in the unspoilt landscape of Val da Camp, it captivates visitors with its turquoise, crystal-clear waters and impressive mountain scenery.

The idyllic lake is a perfect destination for hikers and nature lovers. On calm days, the surrounding mountains and trees are reflected in the clear water, creating a truly magical sight.

Our tip: We recommend taking the PostBus from Sfazù to Alp Camp. (Reservation required.)

The Engadine around Pontresina offers perfect conditions for winter sports. Whether you enjoy sledging, skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing or winter hiking, the snow-covered mountains have something for everyone.

The region offers 9 ski areas with around 350 kilometres of pistes, many of them with reliable snow conditions well into spring. Cross-country skiers can explore more than 240 km of trails, while over 250 km of winter hiking and snowshoe trails invite you to discover the winter landscape. A special highlight is the more than 3-kilometre-long ice-skating trail between Madulain and Zuoz.
